About the Studio

Established in 2003, Nissa's String Studio strives to create a warm, positive and enriching environment for each and every student to flourish in.  We have a versatile team of instructors who are actively involved in the local and regional music scene, ranging from folk rock bands to jazz acts, to string quartets and symphonies.  We can prepare students to find themselves and thrive on their unique musical journeys! 

Individual lessons are private, quiet and distraction-free.  We want students to cultivate their own creativity, and encourage them to find their own niche in the world of music.

Technique, artistry and musical enjoyment are at the heart of our teaching.  We believe that making music is an athletic activity, as well as a mindful and spirited extension on oneself.  We see each student as a separate and unique challenge.

We, as a string studio, will respect, support and encourage one another. We will approach all performances and auditions in a professional, inviting and well-prepared-for manner.  The studio will constantly grow and expand in its knowledge, membership, diversity, warmth, character and musical quality.

Private Instruction

• All Ages welcome!
• Beginner to advanced levels.
• Each student receives one private lesson per week. Lessons are taught year-round with designated weeks off per year.
• Beginning through advanced instruction is offered in violin, fiddle, viola, cello, bass, piano, guitar (acoustic and electric).
  
• Private lessons offered in 30-minute, 45-minute and 60-minute intervals.

Recitals

• Spring & Summer Recitals:
  • Each student performs a solo with accompaniment.
  • Adult learners have their own recital!
• Winter Recital:
  • Students perform chamber music in small groups.
  • Each group is coached by their private instructor during scheduled rehearsals throughout December.
